PIONEERING SPORTS INJURY REPAIR

“My aim is to restore knee function with the minimum of damage to the tissues.”
Professor Adrian Wilson

Ligament injuries, particularly those affecting the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are very common in contact sports, especially those that involve sudden changes of direction such as football, netball and rugby.

Adrian has developed a number of innovative treatments for sports injuries including new procedures for treating anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and ACL repair in children. He was a pioneering surgeon on the new ALL-Inside reconstruction technique for ACL reconstruction surgery which is less invasive than the traditional procedure.

Adrian has also helped to pioneer and develop the new anterolateral ligament (ALL) reconstruction technique which dramatically improves the outcome of ACL reconstruction surgery. His methods have become routine practice globally for many leading knee surgeons and have revolutionised ACL treatment for children and adults.

Along with pioneering surgery for sports injuries that offer better long-term results, Adrian also runs internet training courses and travels widely to coach fellow surgeons in his techniques.
